Scenario DRC on DAG exchange 2010 Part 1


hi guys, I want to share scenario, how to manage DRC on your exchange 2010,

please follow my scenario

Server Name Role Site IP Production IP Private
DMG-DC001 DC 2008 r2 Default-First-Site-Name 192.168.1.1  
DMG-EXC001 Exchange Multi Role Default-First-Site-Name 192.168.1.3 10.10.10.1
DMG-EXC002 Exchange Multi role Default-First-Site-Name 192.168.1.4 10.10.10.2
DMG-DC002 DC 2008 R2 Brach 192.168.2.1  
DMG-EXC003 Exchange Multirole Brach 192.168.2.2 10.10.10.3

I have implement exchange but while both my server exchange is down, not automatically move in site DRC, and my exchange in DRC disconnect and healthy and not automatic mounted

I checked all database has service down and dismounted

and I check in DB-GOLD01 database also disconnect and healty

don’t worry please follow this scenario how to disaster recovery your DAG

check RPC mailbox database, RPC still appear to webmail.demagnum.com it’s RPC to mainsite

check database availability group, and look at started mailbox server, the server still appear all my exchange.

please stop mailbox database availability group in my site, open exchange management shell and type

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Stop-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup -Identity DAG -ActiveDirectorySite Default-First-Site-Name -ConfigurationOnly

and type y while confirm

check started mailbox database availability group, oh my god it’s must started mailbox server DMG-EXC003.demagnum.com, oke let it be

stopped service cluster service in the services.msc

restore database availability group on DRC, the way is

restore-databaseavailabilitygroup –identity DAG –activedirectorysite Brach

and type y while confirm

please check it in database management, and check database has mounted

check it stated mailbox database in DRC

image

please check it mailbox database RPC, oke RPC still in the webmail.demagnum.com, beforehand I create RPC in the DRC is backupmail.demagnum.com so I want to change all database RPC from webmail to backupmail

to change RPC mailbox database to backupmail please type

set-maiboxdatabase –DB-Silver01 –RpcClientAccessServer backupmail.demagnum.com

check getmailbox database

get-mailboxdatabase | select name, *rpc*

then repair your outlook client, it should be change backupmail.demagnum.com

test send new email, to make sure your exchange is working

check cluster service has started

image

and check IP dag and file share witness to alternate

    Hi, thank you for this poste.

    I have this problem :
    WriteError! Exception = Microsoft.Exchange.Cluster.Replay.DagTaskQuorumNotAchievedException: A database availability group administrative operation failed. Error: Unable to form quorum for database availability group ‘DAGWFC’. Please try the operation again, or run the Restore-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup cmdlet and specify the site with servers known to be running.
    restore-databaseavailabilitygroup explicitly called CloseTempLogFile().

    can you help me please.
